Most supermarkets are open 7 days a week from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm in Northern Cyprus. Most goods are also available in the local shops. There are several well-stocked supermarkets particularly in central Kyrenia for foodstuffs and many small stores, which provide most daily requirements. There is a wide range of wines and spirits at low prices; popular brands of cigarettes, cigars and tobacco are freely available in Northern Cyprus.

There is a high standard of ladies and gentlemen’s hairdressing and beauty treatment, particularly in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus.

Chemist shops have stocks of most products available internationally.

There is a wide range of good quality clothing materials in Northern Cyprus. There are many boutiques for ladies and men clothes and also dressmakers. Men’s tailoring is very good, as are shirts and shoes, all generally cheaper than in the UK.

There are local potteries in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus where a wide range of hand-made goods can be found.

UK newspapers are available at some supermarkets and the British Council in Lefkosa, Northern Cyprus generally has the previous day's papers for reading in the Library.
